This concert, titled Haavekuvia (Dream images), is at Turku Cathedral on Monday 3 February 2020 at 19.00. The performers are Aarne Pelkonen (baritone), Marzi Nyman (piano and guitar), Jukka Perko (saxophone), Erika Maalismaa (violin) and Jani Pensola (bass).<\/p>\n<p>Baritone Aarne Pelkonen is known for his performance as Petter Kummelin, the priest in the opera <em>J\u00e4\u00e4 <\/em>[Ice] by Jaakko Kuusisto, based on the novel by Ulla-Lena Lundberg, staged at the Finnish National Opera. <em>Haavekuvia <\/em>[Dream images] is a concert featuring beloved Finnish popular classics and songs written for Pelkonen setting poems by old Finnish masters such as Eino Leino, Aaro Hellaakoski and L. Onerva. These songs were written by Iiro Rantala, Marzi Nyman and Jukka Linkola.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dWe are pleased to continue our collaboration with \u2019Music in the Cathedral\u2019, and this concert is a fine start to our offering for 2020. All Turku Music Festival tickets are sold at Lippupiste outlets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Turku Music Festival will be held from 6 to 16 August 2020.
