Martin Haselböck

Austrian director MARTIN HASELBÖCK grew up in a famous family of musicians. Having studied in Vienna and Paris, he attained international recognition as a concert organist, working with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Lorin Maazel, Wolfgang Sawallisch and Riccardo Muti and premiering works by composers such as Friedrich Cerha, Ernst Krenek, Alfred Schnittke, Cristobal Halffter and Amy Gilbert. He has released more than 50 CDs, many of which have received distinguished awards (e.g. the Deutscher Schallplattenpreis and the Diapason d’Or).

Haselböck has appeared as conductor with prominent orchestras on all continents. Asconductor of the period orchestra of the Wiener Akademie, he is known for the RESOUND Beethoven concert series, the purpose of which is to perform Beethoven’s orchestral works at the venues where they were originally premiered and in a guise as close to the original as possible.
