Daniel Bard
Two time Chalmers-award winner DANIEL BARD, born in Haifa, Israel, began his violin studies in Toronto in 1990 with David Zafer. In 2007, Daniel co-founded Trio Mondrian which won first prize at the 2007 International Chamber Music Competition in Trieste, Italy. One of the biggest passions of Daniel is chamber orchestra. He has been invited to direct Camerata Bern, Sweden’s Camerata Nordica and Norwegian Chamber Orchestra. He has been the principal violist of the Amsterdam Sinfonietta 2009-2016 and became concertmaster of the Basel Chamber Orchestra in Switzerland 2018.
Equally at home as a violinist and violist, Bard performs all across Europe. He has collaborated with artists such as Menahem Pressler, Gilbert Kalish, Antje Weithaas and Shmuel Ashkenzi. He has lead both instrumental and chamber music classes at the Amsterdam Conservatory and the Jerusalem Music Centre.
