The Turku Music Festival regretfully announces the postponement to 2022 of the recital of baritone Thomas Hampson, scheduled for April 2021, respectively. New date is being sought to fit in with the singer’s international timetable, and further information will be published later this spring.
The Turku Music Festival is sad to announce that we are forced to postpone the ‘Songs of America’ recital by Thomas Hampson, scheduled for 24 April 2021, to next year. The recital was to be a panorama of American melodies. This postponement is due to the recommendations and regulations issued by the authorities in respect of the coronavirus situation in Southwest Finland.
“The pandemic situation remains critical, and restrictions are still in place. Under these circumstances, we have no choice but to postpone this eagerly expected recital once more, to the year 2022. We ask our customers for understanding. Hampson is very much looking forward to visiting Finland, so we have high hopes of finally bringing him to the stage in 2022,” says Maija Palonheimo, currently acting as the managing director of the Turku Music Festival.
Tickets already purchased will be honoured for the rescheduled recital as is. If the new time, to be announced later, is not suitable for you, then you may claim a refund. Please note that only the ticket price itself will be refunded, not the service or delivery fees. You may also exchange any tickets for these recitals for a Turku Music Festival gift voucher instead of a cash refund. The deadline for applying for a refund is 30 April 2021.

To claim a refund, send a message to Lippupiste at or phone 0600 900 900 (EUR 2 per min + local call charge). Your message must include your mailing address, the serial numbers of your original tickets and any other identifier such as the order number.
