Recital by star tenor Juan Diego Flórez in Turku postponed to 2022

The recital by tenor Juan Diego Flórez and pianist Vincenzo Scalera at the Turku Music Festival scheduled for 18 June 2021 will be postponed to May 2022. The new time is Sunday 15 May 2022 at 19.00. Tickets already reserved and purchased will be honoured as is.

Juan Diego Flórez is one of the world’s finest tenors and most celebrated opera singers. As coronavirus restrictions continue, there was no option but to postpone this recital, but both parties were eager to find a new date quickly. “We are extremely happy that we could find a date in his calendar so soon. We are hopeful that next year we will finally be able to produce this recital in a feasible setting,” says Maija Palonheimo, interim managing director of the Turku Music Festival.

The programme for the recital next year provisionally includes opera arias and other melodies by be-loved composers such as Donizetti, Verdi, Massenet and Puccini. Flórez will be collaborating with pianist Vincenzo Scalera, who has performed in Turku previously.

“I am really looking forward to my first appearance at the Turku Music Festival. This fine event brings together so many international artists every year, and I can’t wait to perform and meet the audience,” says Flórez.

Tickets already purchased will be honoured for the rescheduled concert as is. If the new time 15.5.2022 is not suitable for you, then you may claim a refund. Please note that only the ticket price itself will be refunded, not the service or delivery fees.
